- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and other reporting requirements.
- Support the Financial reporting team during month, quarter and year end.
- Work on preliminary/final purchase price calculations for new acquisitions and prepare purchase journal entries.
- Review opening/final acquisition balances, monthly movements, and final reconciliations for various acquisitions.
- Analyze monthly acquisition income statements, reconcile changes, and prepare variance explanations.
- Reconcile bank accounts and sub-ledger accounts.
- Prepare various regulatory and government reporting (RIBO, GST&HST, sales taxes, quarterly surveys etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance the quality and reliability of financial information.
- Help team members with their day-to-day questions.
- Complete other tasks as assigned and other ad-hoc reporting and accounting projects as required.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing roles, with a focus on public company financial reporting preferred
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, SEC regulations, and financial accounting standards
- Must have advanced excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of delivering accurate and timely financial information.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong problem solving, organizational, time management, prioritizing and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross- functionally and present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
