The School of Skilled Trades is seeking a hands-on and organized technician to support our Carpentry and Welding programs by preparing instructional materials, managing inventory, purchasing supplies, and maintaining shop equipment. This role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and well-equipped learning environments for students and instructors.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and package lab and course materials for student use
  • Manage inventory, receiving, storage, and tracking of supplies
  • Source materials, prepare purchase requisitions, and reconcile procurement card expenses
  • Maintain and assemble shop equipment and tools
  • Keep shops and tool rooms organized and safe
  • Work closely with instructors and department leadership to support program delivery
Job Requirements
A minimum 1-year post-secondary education and 2 years of related experience in a technical, shop, or trades environment are preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
  • WHMIS and Forklift Certification (required)
  • First Aid (preferred)
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and attention to safety
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and procurement systems
