- Operational Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of all Home operations.
- Ensure full compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, regulations, and Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) directives.
- Act as the designated Administrator and primary contact for MLTC inspections and compliance matters.
- Implement corporate initiatives and directives as assigned by the Regional Director.
- Financial & Resource Management
- Operate within approved budgets and financial controls.
- Monitor expenditures and staffing to ensure sustainability while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director on forecasting, capital planning, and operational priorities.
- People Leadership (Non-Union Environment)
- Lead, coach, and develop the Home's leadership team.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, discipline, and succession planning for management and staff.
- Ensure staffing levels, skill mix, and scheduling meet legislative requirements and operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with professional college standards and scope of practice.
- Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as the senior on-site leader for residents, families, staff, regulators, and external partners.
- Address resident and family concerns, complaints, and escalations in a timely and respectful manner.
- Represent the Home professionally within the community and health system.
- Quality Improvement & Patient Safety
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Home's Quality Improvement Program including facilitating the CQI meetings and overseeing the creation and successful implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
- Oversee quality indicators and facilitate improvement initiatives
- Use data analysis, audits, and trend monitoring to identify risks and drive improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance & Inspections
- Lead preparation for, response to, and follow-up from MLTC inspections.
- Ensure timely completion of corrective action plans and sustained compliance.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with FLTCA, regulations, Ministry directives, and internal policies.
- Incident Management & Risk Oversight
- Ensure appropriate reporting, investigation, and follow-up of:
- Critical incidents
- Complaints
- Adverse events and near misses
- Oversee Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure corrective actions are implemented and evaluated.
- Policy, Education & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure policies and procedures are current, evidence-informed, and compliant.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to support quality-related education and competency development.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safety.
- Eligibility to be designated as an Administrator under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021
- Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in Long-Term Care or a regulated healthcare environment
- Demonstrated experience with MLTC inspections and regulatory compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Experience leading Quality Improvement Program (QIPs)
- Post-secondary education in Health Administration, Nursing, Business, or related field
- Accreditation Canada experience considered an asset
