- Five multi-slide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 70 to 200 tons
- Injected Metal Assembly (IMA) up to one ton
- Precision tool building with in-house capabilities
- Design, prototyping, and modeling services
- Wide range of finishing surfaces available including tumbling, polishing, shot blasting and thermal de-burring
- Cosmetic or protective coating equipment either through certified suppliers or in-house
- Wide range of secondary operations including CNC machining, tapping, reaming, and drilling
- Drive the development of a culture based on ownership and accountability to increase health and safety awareness;
- Perform regular risk assessments/audits to identify safety risks and put corrective actions in place to control those risks, ensuring follow up and sustainability of actions;
- Develop and maintain an EHS program, including training, policy development/implementation, and promoting EHS awareness. Monitor legislative changes and update EHS program as required to ensure ongoing compliance;
- Lead the Company's implementation and sustainment of ISO 14001;
- Facilitate new employee orientation/on-boarding at all levels of the organization;
- Coordinate and/or administer Health and Safety training for all employees through internal and external providers, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with legislated requirements;
- Act as a Certified Management member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee, schedule meetings, prepare agenda and minutes, and follow open items to conclusion;
- Assist in the investigation of accidents or near misses, complete a root cause analysis and coordinate required support to correct the hazard;
- Oversee employee safety eyewear and safety footwear PPE programs, while educating supervisors and enforcing compliance with all PPE requirements;
- Administer EHS programs and activities such as Work Refusals and Emergency/Disaster plans;
- Participate in weekly Gemba walks with members of the Management team, as well as plant audits;
- Provide support in handling issues arising from Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Environment inspections, when required;
- Liaise with the WSIB on injury claims and modified work assignments;
- Ensure that all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws/regulations are followed while consistently promoting and enforcing all company policies and procedures;
- Prepare EHS metrics and KPI's on a monthly or as-needed basis;
- Other duties, as required.
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role in a manufacturing environment;
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Science or related field;
- Strong understanding and application of legislated safety regulations and requirements;
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems independently, with a high level of critical thinking;
- Knowledge of EHS Management systems including ISO 14001;
- Ability to analyze and evaluate options, solutions, and exercise judgement in making sound decisions;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Familiarity with ergonomics principles and assessments;
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Smartsheet software considered an asset;
- Self-motivated with a "can do" attitude.

- Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- Peterborough, ON K9J6X7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
