Shifts: Dedicated 8 hour shifts across weekdays. Dedicated extended shifts across days, evenings, nights and weekends. Rotating on-call shifts during stat holidays, or as needed.

Join Medical Imaging at UHN, one of the largest academic medical imaging department in Canada! Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.At UHN we work to develop new MRI protocols and procedures for cardiac, breast, neuro, abdominal and pelvic, oncological and musculoskeletal (MSK) areas. Through protocol development, we can assist in quicker diagnosis and treatments for our patients.MRI recently introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) as part of the MRI clinical workflows across the complete fleet of 7 scanners, as a first department.We help train new technologists from various institutional programs across Canada. - Builds MRI Protocols on scanners as outlined in the research documents/imaging guidelines
- Review CAPCR documents
- Performs PET-MRI and MRI Procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis, intervention and or treatment
- Perform other duties per department needs
- Ensures MRI Safety Standards of Practice are followed at all times
- Operates, troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
- Prepare written and electronic reports required to properly document all procedures and test results
- Attend Research meetings as required
- Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grand applications and data processing
- Responsible for teaching, training, educational research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and utilizing the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to review, manipulate and archive digital medical images of data in final image formation
- Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
- Understand and follow Hospital and departmental Research policies and procedures to improve technical quality
- Completion of a recognized post diploma program in MRI, or recognized equivalent with MRI certification
- Completion of Cross-section Anatomy course and contrast injection course
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S) program, Level LL: Basic Rescuer certification
- Minimum three (3) years recent clinical MRI experience
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Membership with CAMRT
- Ability to competently operate PET diagnostic equipment, an asset
- Reconstruction of image data for subsequent quantitative analyses applying applying appropriate corrections for attenuation, random scatters, motion etc. per direction of the nuclear medicine physician or physicist
- Performs transfer and back-up of imaging data
- Performs venipuncture or catheterization to provide access for administration of radiopharmaceuticals, and fluids or the removal of blood for metabolite, survival, or recovery (of the radiopharmaceutical) analysis
- Monitors radiation work areas (wipe testing , weekly surveys) and other areas as needed
- Maintain quarterly equipment (dose calibrator) linearity and constancy checks
- Previous Cardiac MRI experience an asset
