Maderra Personnel is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Civil Engineer - Dam Engineering to contribute to the successful execution of projects across Newfoundland and Labrador.Located in St. John's, NL, Maderra provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors.   • Contribute to the Dam Safety Engineering group by supporting the management and ongoing development of the Corporate Dam Safety Program
  • Provide technical guidance to dam safety inspectors and maintenance personnel
  • Conduct dam safety inspections, prepare cost estimates, and update surveillance and maintenance standards
  • Prepare work orders, material and equipment requisitions, and contract documentation
  • Develop engineering standards and perform construction management duties for assigned projects
  • Prepare technical specifications and provide civil engineering support as required
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) as a professional engineer
  • Experience in hydrotechnical and/or geotechnical engineering
  • Experience in Dam Safety; civil design and construction
  • Willingness to travel approximately 7-10 weeks a year
  • Proven and demonstrated communication skills
  • Ability to thrive as a participant within a multi-discipline team of both internal and external resources
