Senior Accountant Fixed AssetsOur client is seeking a Senior Accountant Fixed Assets to join their team in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the preparation and analysis of financial information related to fixed assets for quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, regulatory reporting, and other required reports.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Supports timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for property and capital accounting.
  • Reconciles and analyzes General Ledger, asset sub-ledger, and regulatory sub-ledger for capital and property accounts.
  • Prepares and analyzes regulatory and tax reporting related to capital and properties.
  • Assists with annual Group Depreciation studies for Canadian and U.S. operations.
  • Implements process controls and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with US GAAP for property and capital accounting.
  • Provides accounting support for major capital and property transactions.
  • Collaborates with internal teams across Tax, Regulatory, IS, Ops, and Corporate Reporting.
  • Supports external and internal audits, including working paper preparation.
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting with exposure to US GAAP or IFRS
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
