- Ensure all recruitment requirements of the company are met and that best qualified candidates are sourced (internally and externally) and integrated into the company
- Conducts new hire orientation training
- Provide guidance and direction on employee relations, corrective action, and performance management situations
- Supports the disability leave process and WSIB claims management
- Ensure adherence to corporate and site-specific HR policies and practices
- Complete HR related documentation in support of the day to day business requirements
- Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing support of HR strategies, projects, policies and workplace programs
- Champion an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and safety
- Support Health and Safety policy development and process improvement ensuring compliance with provincial standards
- Participates as a member of the joint health and safety committee and is responsible for workplace inspections while promoting a safety-first culture

- Post-secondary education within the field of HR and 2-3 yrs of experience in a Generalist or similar role; CHRP designation an asset
- Broad knowledge and demonstrated experience leading; employee relations, full cycle recruitment, health & safety
- Experience supporting disability claims, both occupational and non-occupational, as well as return to work programs
- An excellent and thorough understanding of the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Power Point and Share Point
- Experience practicing HR in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
