We currently have an opening for a Bridge Engineer to join our team in Winnipeg. You will be responsible for the design and technical delivery of bridges projects. You will work with engineers, technologists, and support staff to provide structural engineering services to a variety of public and private sector clients. Your projects will focus on bridges within provincial, municipal, and community related structural infrastructure.You will be involved in preparing studies, designs, specifications, and contract documents. You may also participate in scheduling and tendering, construction inspection, and contract administration. You will also provide support to other members of our team and complete other duties as assigned while working on a variety of projects in a collaborative team environment.As part of the Winnipeg Bridges & Structures team, you will contribute to and integrate with our high functioning team of Engineers, Technologists, and Project Administrators.You will lead by example and apply new perspectives on technology use and the efficient application of technology. You are forward thinking and will engage fellow discipline members to improve overall team performance and client service.You will primarily work on projects throughout Associated Engineering's Manitoba region, with the opportunity to work on projects throughout Canada.Responsibilities will include:
  • Preparation of proposals, design criteria, preliminary designs, detailed engineering design and specifications, and reports
  • Technical guidance and mentoring of project team members including other engineers, and technical support staff
  • Liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities, and contractors
  • Developing and enhancing client relationships and assisting with project management activities
Job RequirementsWhat you will bring:
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or an associated discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • 10+ years of relevant experience gained in a professional engineering setting
  • P.Eng. in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba
  • Experience in the preparation of construction drawings, design calculations, cost estimates, and tender documents
  • Experience in contract administration and construction inspection
  • Experience in project management and project coordination
  • Ability to write technical reports and proposals
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules
  • A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a preferred asset
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
